Elvira Palmer incoming correspondence, 1836-1838.

Letters to Miss Elvira M. Palmer of Mansfield, Connecticut, from her cousin Mary Ann Cutter, who was a student at the Gothic Seminary in Northampton, Massachusetts. Mary, a native of Georgia, often mentioned being homesick; she was thrilled when someone from Georgia brought her letters from her family. She also wrote about her studies and her social activities. She returned to Georgia and in 1843 married Asher Ayers. Miss Palmer lived in the home of Reverend Anson S. Atwood, a relative.
